Midsomer Memories

From the very start, the founders of the Midsomer Norton Society wanted to use new technology to bring our heritage alive. Initially we've used digital photography and modern projection equipment. The next logical step was to create our own DVDs in order to present Midsomer Norton's heritage to as wide an audience as possible.

Using a video camera we have begun visiting long-standing residents of the town, and have created our first two eight minute Midsomer Memories, featuring Pearl Kossowski and Betty Fisher.

We have an ambitious programme of 50 more interviews ahead of us and a long list of subjects to cover ranging from Nortonians at war and education to Midsomer Fair Day and shopping in the town.

Filming is a very simple process - so much so that interviewees hardly notice the camera and generally relax into recalling their memories for posterity in the comfort of their own homes.

If you know someone in the town who you think has interesting memories of Midsomer Norton then please contact us.
